Body

Body

Since the body is the intermediary between the mind and the heart, attention to our physical selves is critical to the healing process. Connecting to body sensations and breath, we can access intuitive wisdom, tap into that “gut feeling” and discover our most intimate self. Body-focused work during psychotherapy sessions is introduced through breath, visualization, meditation and gentle yoga movement.

Quiet listening to the body provides an opportunity to:

  • Bypass thinking to access our deepest feelings
  • Smooth inner tensions by locating grounded awareness
  • Enhance energy when it is depleted
  • Ignite will when we are confused or afraid
  • Access blocked sexual pathways
  • Find our voice when we feel suppressed
  • Experience a livelier connection to all beings
